Veterinary Receptionist
Torquay (Newton Abbot & Teignmouth)
£ NMW
Part-Time. 16-20hrs.

Quarry House Vets are a local independent small animal veterinary practice that treat exotics. We have clinics in Torquay, Newton Abbot & Teignmouth. We are RCVS accredited, RWAF awarded for rabbit welfare & knowledge and are a veterinary nurse training practice.

We undertake a wide range of surgical procedures including BOAS, dentals and have the latest in-house laboratory equipment. You can find out more about our services here.

  • 16-20 hours per week
  • Hours of work are between Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 9am-7pm and Saturday 9am-1pm (days and times to be discussed however Wednesday 5pm -7pm are non-negotiable). 
  • No experience needed, full training will be given

Flexible, part-time receptionist required to work at our Torquay practice with occasional cover at our Newton Abbot and Teignmouth branches. The successful candidate does not require any previous experience however they MUST have a friendly and welcoming manner & a love of animals. A full driving licence, own transport and basic computer skills are essential.

Flexibility is a key component of this post as well as having a vehicle/full driving licence covered by business insurance due to travelling to other branches.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Greeting all clients and visitors in a friendly manner at our main reception, confirming their attendance on the computer & arranging repeat appointments if necessary.

Taking payments for goods/services and issuing receipts.

Answering telephone calls, taking and passing on messages and updating client’s records.

Obtaining histories from previous vets & chasing them up if not received. Once obtained attaching them to the patient’s computerised record. 

Keeping patients computerised records up to date, uploading images and filing paperwork.

End of day cashing up.

You may be required to cover our branch surgeries during the week for holiday or sickness cover.
