We are pleased to offer Extra-Mural Studies placements to Veterinary Surgeon Students.
Our EMS placements offer you a valuable insight into the career of a Veterinary Surgeon. Our aim is to give you first hand experience in many aspects of the profession to help you development new and existing skills.
Our friendly and passionate team are committed you get the very best out of your time with us and will help guide you towards a very fulfilling career in veterinary.

N.B: Please supply your University email address as verification of your eligibility for an EMS placement.

FAQ's
EMS placements are normally 1 to 2 weeks. However we are happy to offer longer placements if required.
Clinical procedures will vary according to our patients needs. However there will be plenty of opportunities to perform a variety of procedures.
You will also have the opportunity to accompany one of our vets on their visit to our animal charity partner.
Yes, our employer’s liability insurance covers all staff, apprentices and work experience students.
You will need to get to/from us at the beginning/end of the day. However a vet or nurse will be responsible for getting you to and from our other branches and other working locations.
When you arrive to us for the first time, we will discuss your level of experience and aspirations for what you are hoping to achieve during your placement. This gives us the best chance to ensure that you have the correct opportunities during your time with us.
