🐾🐈 PLAYING WITH YOUR CAT 🐈🐾
Β
We all know cats are independent creatures – they do what they want, when they want. This can mean we often forget how important it is to spend time playing with them.
Β
You may often observe your cat engaging in hunting activities such as stalking, pouncing, playing and killing with live prey, fallen leaves or grass that’s blowing in the wind. Cats participate in hunting because it releases endorphin hormones which make them feel good – It’s not because they are hungry!
Β
Playing is very important for cats, especially kittens, as it helps with their physical development, social skills and coordination. It also teaches them the many skills they need to navigate through life and the world around them. When you play with your cat, it gives them much needed mental stimulation and physical exercise whilst strengthening your bond with them.
Β
Help keep your cat happy and healthy by playing with them. Ideally, a few 10 minute sessions a day will reduce their boredom, help prevent behavioral problems and provide them with exercise which reduces weight gain and future health problems.
