Our Veterinary Surgeons

Dr Marcus Langer

MA, Vet MB, MRCVS
Principal Vet

Marcus graduated from Cambridge University in 1979, he worked in the UK and South Africa before joining Quarry House Vets in 1987, becoming a partner in 1990. Marcus assumed sole ownership of Quarry House Vets in 2005. Marcus provided veterinary care to Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts for over 20 years. He has a vast knowledge of exotic species and clients from all over Devon and Cornwall bring their pets to see him.

Dr Ariadni Vardaramatou

MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

Ariadni is no longer with us here at Quarry House Vets. In December she decided she missed home too much and has headed back to Greece. We wish her all the best for the future.

Dr Carlo Cicalese

MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

Carlo first joined Quarry House Vets in 2017. He graduated from University of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain in 2016. After leaving QHV he started a Postgraduate Certificate course in Small Animal Surgery Consolidate Learning whilst working in the UK and Italy before coming back to Quarry House Vets in March 2023. Carlo specialises in laser therapy which is a pain-free alternative or supportive treatment for the reduction of pain and inflammation.

Athina Britton

Clinical Supervisor

Athina joined the team back in August 2012 as an Animal Nursing Assistant. After undertaking a Veterinary Nursing course at Bicton College, she graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017. Athina has a keen interest in Feline behaviour and welfare, ensuring that all cats’ visiting the practice are as stress free as possible!

I joined Quarry House Vets at the end of 2020 after previously working in a kennels and cattery. I enjoy my job because it feels great to see the pets feel better and know that I helped them. When I’m not at work I like to take my dog Archie the Dorkie (dachshund x yorkie) out for walks and go to the gym

I started working for Quarry House Vets in 2022. I look after the website and social media pages plus much more. I enjoy working for QHV because my colleagues are a great bunch who are dedicated to helping those in our care. Working with the wider community to ensure high levels of animal welfare are important to me and QHV. Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband, our 3 children and my pets.

Maxine Scott

My name is Maxine, I am the Reception Coordinator here at Quarry House Vets. I joined the team in October 2019 as a receptionist and became Reception Coordinator in December 2023.
I enjoy working at Quarry House Vets because you get to see lots of pets throughout the day and we get to have lots of cuddles with our patients. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family.

I’m Gill and started my ideal role as a receptionist with Quarry House in October 2023. I’ve had many pets throughout my life and at present, I have 2 adopted cats who I adore very much. 
When I’m not working, I like to spend time with family and friends and love entertaining and hosting dinner parties.
